Adding to this, DAVE HUGHES is this year’s host of the JFL All-Star Gala. They will be joining KEVIN BRIDGES, RHYS DARBY, GAD ELMALEH, BERT KREISCHER, MY FAVORITE MURDER, and JUST FOR LAUGHS AUSTRALIA: LIVE hosted by TOMMY LITTLE.  Due to overwhelming demand, additional shows have been added for Kevin Bridges and Gad Elmaleh.  The second show added for Kevin Bridges is scheduled for Thursday, September 14 at the Sydney Opera House, Concert Hall and the second show for Gad is scheduled for Tuesday, September 19 at the City Recital Hall.  Tickets for both the shows are on-sale now!

JOEL McHALE is a highly sought after comedian and actor.  For twelve years, McHale hosted E!’s The Soup in which he satirised pop culture and current events.   He is best known for his starring role on the hit comedy series Community and he was most recently seen on the revival of The X-Files.  Joel continues to perform his stand-up around America to sold out audiences.

Other credits include A Merry Friggin’ Christmas, starring as Robin William’s son, The Jerry Bruckheimer produced supernatural thriller, Deliver Us From Evil, and he appears in the romantic comedy Blended alongside Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore.  His additional film credits include the comedy smash TED, Spy Kids, All The Time In The World and The Informant.  And in 2014, McHale hosted the annual White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington D.C.. This will be Joel’s first full Australian Stand Up tour.

The Annual Just For Laughs All-Star Gala will be hosted by much loved television and radio personality Dave Hughes.  Natural and unmistakably Australian, Hughesy’s laconic style thinly disguises one of this country’s fastest comedic minds. Turning everyday foibles into rich and hilarious routines has made Hughesy the biggest name in Australian comedy. Dave hosts the top rating Drive Show on KIISFM as well as being a regular on The Project and the Channel 9 AFL Footy Show.  The full line-up of this year’s JFL All-Star Gala will be announced soon.

TOFOP (Thirty Odd Foot Of Podcast) is one of Australia’s favourite podcasts.  Hosted by Wil Anderson and Charlie Clausen, it will be recorded LIVE. Just let that sink in for a second. A podcast they can’t even figure out how to record properly will be live on stage at Australia’s premiere entertainment venue. Thankfully they’ve managed to rope in John Deeks and a line up of hilarious special guests, guaranteeing that this will once again be nothing for everybody.  With over 50k followers in 70 countries, this is a show not to be missed.

Two of Australia’s best female comedians Claire Hooper and Mel Buttle are teaming up for a brand new show. Claire and Mel are the co-hosts of The Great Australian Bake Off  for Foxtel’s Lifestyle Channel with culinary icons Maggie Beer and Matt Moran which is returning in 2017 for its third season. A born storyteller with a sharp wit, Claire has been captivating audiences and receiving critical acclaim since she began her comedy career 13 years ago. Mel is a hilarious bundle of contradictions and she’s a package that is rapidly making herself felt in all mediums right across the country.  A regular on the live comedy circuit for years, Mel opened for Marc Maron when he toured Australia and has recently been seen on ABC TV’s The Weekly with Charlie Pickering. Don’t miss these female powerhouses of comedy when they join forces on stage for the very first time.

With millions of downloads to their names, comedians Tommy Dassalo and Karl Chandler bring a weekly glimpse behind the curtain that captures the essence of how comedians talk when they’re offstage on their podcast The Little Dum Dum Club. Each week, Tommy and Karl are joined by different guests and friends from the world of comedy. In over 350 episodes they’ve featured the likes of Wil Anderson, Celia Pacquola, Dave Hughes, Fiona O’Loughlin, Ronny Chieng, Bill Burr, Hannibal Buress and even Senator Sam Dastyari. Thanks to thousands of incredibly dedicated fans, they recently completed a crowd funded live podcast festival in Thailand where they were joined by listeners from Australia, New York, Switzerland and China. Now see them live at the Sydney Opera House.

This year, Just For Laughs Sydney is introducing the JFL Festival Pass allowing comedy fans to see more shows at discounted rates.  The pass, which JFL has done at its other festivals with great success, is being introduced to the JFL Sydney audience for the first time and provides comedy fans with the opportunity to see experience the festival and see more comedy. JFL Festival Pass is for The Comedy Channel’s Just For Laughs Australia: Live.  Hosted by Tommy Little and featuring over 30 Australian and international comedians over three nights, tickets for 1 show are $37.90 but the 2 show pass is $50 and the 3 show pass is $60.  Pass holders can choose which JFL Australia: Live show they wish to attend at the point of purchase.   The reduced pass rate is not applicable on tickets for the same show – i.e. you cannot buy a 2 show pass for Thursday at 7:15pm.  Also, if you purchase a ticket for the JFL All-Star Gala or any show in the Playhouse Theatre, you will also have the opportunity to purchase a ticket to JFL Australia: Live for just $20.  Ticket holders can choose which JFL Australia: Live show they wish to attend at the point of purchase. The full line-up of Just For Laughs Australia: Live will be announced in coming weeks.
